October brings autumn leaves, cool
weather, and the Haunted Woods to the
hills above St. Ambrose. St. Ambrose
parishioners dress up in spooky costumes
and act out a frightful tale that is based
on true stories of mischief and murders in
Union County in the 1800s. Visitors take a
tractor-pulled wagon ride up the hill
listening to the eerie narration. The ride is
followed by a walk-through, interactive
adventure through the woods back in time
in a little town full of criminals and crazies.
After the frightful trip, visitors snack on hot
cocoa and hot dogs. Tremblin' Timbers
takes place at dusk the last three weekends
of October.
"Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with
me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Psalm 23:4
