Brief
St. Ambrose Catholic Church is a thriving Catholic community
in far Western Kentucky. Located atop a hill amid acres of rural
farmland, St. Ambrose Church was built in 1832. For over 175 years,
the small congregation has worked to live out and share the Catholic
Christian lifestyle.
Recently, the historical church building underwent an
intricate restoration. The church community also opted to build a
7,000 sq. ft. hall for special events, pot-lucks, casual fellowship, and
fundraisers. To pay for the cost of the versatile building, St.
Ambrose hosts a variety of fundraisers to involve surrounding communities.
Every October, church members dress for fright and put on a
walk-through Halloween tale in the woods above the church. Offering
hot dogs and hot cocoa after the adventure,
Tremblin' Timbers
is a great family event and an excellent way to enjoy the Halloween season.
Annually, the church holds a
Car Show
offering prizes to entered cars. Families enjoy looking at the cars,
participating in door prizes, walking the cake walk, entering 50/50, and
snacking on burgers for a full day of fun. July brings in the local
Little Sturgis Bike Rally. To cater to the biker guests, St. Ambrose
hosts a Biker
Breakfast at our neighboring church, St. Francis. In their
hall, bikers and others alike are welcomed to feast on an all-you-can-eat,
home-cooked, southern breakfast.
There is always something going on in our church community
and we invite everyone to join us in worship and fellowship. We hope
to keep spreading Christ's Word throughout our communities for another 175
years!
